Daily Vegetable Juice

This is my go-to daily fresh vegetable based juice. It tastes nice and fresh with the celery shining through bright and uplifting, the lemon giving the tiniest smidgen of tang and the orange giving a touch of sweetness. I go through phases where I have it every morning and it sets me up for the day.  I must confess I also go through long phases when I don’t juice at all because I get too tired, too busy or too lazy.  But eventually, usually when I am feeling lousy, exhausted or am unwell, I go back to this fresh vegetable juice. A few days on this for breakfast and I am always feeling more energetic and my body is functioning better.  It is the one juice I return to the most frequently, primarily because of the positive impact it has on my body.

Whenever I drink this juice I picture all the vitamins and minerals flowing immediately through my body and my cells jumping for joy.  Fortunately, this juice makes me want to eat well for the rest of the day.

Studies have shown that a minimum of 4 celery stalks (or one full cup chopped) a day can lower blood pressure. From my own experiences, water fasting for a couple of days or taking celery juice daily lowers my blood pressure to an ideal level.  (Note: But if you are on medication, you should always consult your doctor before altering or removing medication, as this may not always work for everyone).

Anyway, all that aside, this is a good daily juice.  You can remove the orange if you like (I sometimes do if I’ve run out), but a small orange is so good for you and it also makes the juice even nicer.  A long time ago I used to add an apple and large orange to this juice (which is great), but the

Recipe type: Fresh Vegetable Based Juice
Serves: 2
Ingredients
  • Celery x 8 long stalks with leaves on end
  • 4 small-medium carrots (peeling optional)
  • ½ lemon peeled (leave white pith on)
  • 2 small oranges peeled (leave white pith on)
Instructions
  1. Throw all ingredients in a vegetable juicer and juice.
  2. Stir the juice.
  3. Pour into two tall glasses and serve immediately.
Notes
Options: If you don't have fructose malabsorption or any kind of fructose issue, you can add 2 apples to this juice or exchange the oranges for apples. If you don't have enough celery one day, you can exchange some of it for cucumber if need be.
